Dragon director Ashwath Marimuthu meets Thalapati Vijay, calls it a dream truth
Director Ashwath Marimuthu met his statue, Tamil superstar Thalapathi Vijay, and shared the emotional importance of the encounter with fans. This meeting had come to a dream true for Marimuthu, which had shifted deeply from the praise of victory for his work.

Ashwath Marimuthu, director of the Tamil film Dragon, got an opportunity to meet his idol, superstar Thalapathi Vijay. The filmmaker shared this intensive emotional experience, giving fans a glimpse in the importance of the encounter.
Marimuthu, who has always praised victory for his extraordinary work and charismatic appearance, expressed his deep gratitude in a emotional post. Sharing photos from the meeting, he wrote, “My people know that I am working hard to meet them with full merit and working with them! Working with them, running away, I don’t know, but I met them !! I sat on the opposite! UNGALUKU SONNA Puriyathu.”
The director’s words suggest how emotional he was to meet someone in depth. Marimuthu, sitting face to face with Vijay, really went away.
He went to tell how personal the moment he was, “I was sitting opposite to it, and as usual, I had a lot to say. But this time, I was in a disadvantage to words. My team, who knows how big a fan of victory I am, waited to speak.

For the director, this meeting was no less than a dream. It became even more special when Vijay praised Marimuthu’s work. He shared, “N friend @pradeeponelife ku padam panna vanthen! Circle called my idol ‘great writing brother’!”
Marimuthu further thanked those who helped make this moment a reality, “Thanks @jadishbliss bro @archanakalpathi mam the biggest gift!”
‘Dragon’ became the highest grossing Tamil film of 2025, crossing Ajit’s ‘Vidamuarechi’, with a gross domestic level of over Rs 100 crore. Directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, it includes Pradeep Ranganathan, Anupama Parameshewaran and Kayedu Lohar. The film is now available on Netflix.
