Dragon Day 9 Tamil Nadu Box Office: Pradeep Ranganathan’s film shows excellent development; The state crosses Rs 50 crore

Pradeep Ranganathan’s latest Tamil film Dragon is turning into a large -scale box office success, especially in Tamil Nadu. On 21 February, the film coming to theaters opened with positive reviews and strong words-mouth, setting the stage for an impressive run. After registering excellent number during his first weekend, Dragon continued his stable performance throughout the week, shutdown to the week 1 alone in Tamil Nadu with a gross of Rs 41 crore.

The speed was not slow even in the second weekend. On 8 Friday, the film gathered in Tamil Nadu for about Rs 4 crore, and the day 9 early Saturdays indicated a more jump of Rs 8 crore. With this, Dragon has comfortably crossed a mark of Rs 50 crore in Tamil Nadu – a great achievement within just nine days.

The film’s performance is not limited to Tamil Nadu. In the Telugu states, where the film was released in a dubbed edition, Dragon is also doing decent business. Combined with foreign earnings, the total Sunday is set to hit a mark of Rs 100 crore iconic by the end of 10 days.

A major factor contributing to the Dragon’s dream run is a lack of strong competition. Tamil films released on 28 February – Sabdham and Aghthian – failed to influence both critics and audiences, resulting in weak collections. It has given the dragon a wide open playground, which may dominate the box office screen in Tamil Nadu.

However, the real challenge is further. While Dragon has a free run till 6 March, things will be hot with the arrival of three big films on 7 March – Chhawa, officer on duty and Kingston.

Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhawa has already created havoc at the box office, and its Telugu version is highly anticipated. The Malayalam Crime Thriller Officer on duty is also starting his Telugu on the same day. By adding to the competition, the Tamil thriller Kingston, GV Prakash, has held strong discussions with his complicated trailer.

For now, however, the dragon is flying high, and there is no major obstacle this week, Pradeep Ranganathan is ready to enjoy his biggest box office victory.
