It’s been five years since iSmart Shankar and Puri Jagannadh finds himself going through tough times once again. After suffering a major setback with Liger, all eyes are now on Double iSmart. So, has he done anything special? Let’s look at 8 tweets from the audience to understand what the audience thinks about the film.
Double iSmart Twitter Review
Talking about the first half of the film, a user commented, “Average first half. Ali (actor)’s scenes are continuously (cringe emoji)”
Another user wrote, “Overall the film is average or slightly above average. If Ali’s scenes are cut, it will become a hit. Puri how did you write such a character? Ram, you have acted brilliantly, I am a fan of your dance.”
Looking at just the first two reviews, it seems like a lot of netizens are unhappy with the character played by Ali in the film.
Expressing the same sentiment as the previous user, a netizen commented, “Ram Ram Ram, all we can see in the whole movie is Ram. One man show. Ram’s tremendous energy throughout the movie, be it dance, fight, acting, dialogues, charm, swag or screen presence.”
Among the negative reviews, another user wrote, “First half was not good, then second half was bad, screenplay was also bad, didn’t grab attention at all. If you want to see Ram’s dance then watch it, but even that is not choreographed well.”
Talking about Rappo (Ram Pothineni) again, a user commented, “It’s sad to see Rappo wasting his potential by choosing bad scripts.” He further added, “The songs are useless, everything is useless. Kavya is very beautiful.”
Lastly, summarizing the overall mediocre sentiment about the film, a user wrote, “It’s worth a watch, nothing special. Ali’s track is so bad it will make you laugh. Mani Sharma’s BGM is good. 3/5”
According to an ex-user, Sanjay Dutt’s role makes minimal impact in the film.
For those who don’t know, after a dull phase at the box office for director Puri Jagannadh, Ismart Shankar came as a sigh of relief in 2019. Though the film was not even close to his best film, it had the highlights of Puri Jagannadh from Pokiri – the eccentric protagonist characterisation, wacky dialogues and catchy songs.
Directed by Puri Jagannadh and co-produced with Charmme Kaur under Puri Connects, Double iSmart is a spiritual sequel to iSmart Shankar starring Ram Pothineni and Sanjay Dutt along with Kavya Thapar, Bani J, Sayaji Shinde, Getup Srinu and Ali.
