Dominic Arun is best known for his second directorial venture Loca Chapter 1: Chandra (2025). During a directors’ roundtable with The Hollywood Reporter India, Dominic said, “For me, this huge success was something I never expected. I was just trying to make a movie that I enjoy watching. A movie that has moments that typically come in a superhero movie. But in a way that appeals to me. So, initially it was mostly a selfish thing. And when I started narrating the script to my friends, I felt like It’s working somewhere. Everyone is enjoying it; everyone is understanding what I’m trying to communicate.”
Dominic Arun confirmed to be working on Loca Chapter 2
The director revealed that it was then that he approached Dulquer Salmaan and narrated his story to him. Dominic Arun revealed, “Dulquer got extremely excited. So, we made this film and now it is out of our hands. So, let’s see how it goes. There is no formula for making a blockbuster film. So, I will go back to the basics, start writing and then see how it goes because it has been difficult. Now, there is a lot of pressure. I have just written a few scenes.”
Mohit Suri on watching Loca Chapter 1
Saiyara director Mohit Suri, who was also a part of the roundtable, said, “I couldn’t watch Loca here in the theatre. So we created a theater experience with home projectors. I called all the ADs to watch it. There was a screening in my office. We watched the dub first and then went back to the original because the emotions are far better with it. We have to go back to the theater before setting an example for everyone else. That’s why we all wanted to be filmmakers. When We went to watch a movie, we wanted to dance and fall in love.
