In ‘Thaudram’, Mohanlal is a taxi driver in the form of Shanmugham, who lives a happy life with his family. The trailer provides a glimpse in chemistry between the dynamic, especially Mohanlal and Shobana of this adorable family, before their car is seized by the police, things take a turn. As he repeatedly visits the station to understand what is wrong, he gets entangled in an unexpected situation, a crime scene that no one came.

Addressing the growing discussion, Tharun said, “We had imagined the film as a family drama, in which Mohanlal and Shobana were with Reunion. But all the promotions are making a different perception. Perhaps it is due to my inexperience as a director, it has so far made only three films.”

He further explained that Mohanlal’s earlier interview, where he said that the film is like ‘Dravyam’, has contributed to this change in perception. He said that because the film presents a family person, a grounded, ordinary person. “It cannot be described as an investigation thriller or a mystery thriller,” Thorun clarified.
