Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is set to start shooting for the much awaited war film ‘Border 2’ from June 10. He will be seen sharing screen space with Sunny Deol, who returns as his prestigious character from the 1997 blockbuster ‘Border’.

As Pinkvilla Report, Sunny Deol has already started shooting for his share, and Diljit will first attend the event with him. Later, in July, Diljit will also shoot with Varun Dhawan. The manufacturers plan to wrap the shooting by August 10, 2025.

A source close to Vikas tells The News Portal, “Diljit Dosanjhi plays a very interesting role in the ‘Border’ that brings into the war of war between India and Pakistan in 1971. He starts his journey on ‘Border 2’ from 10 June, and will shoot sequences with Sunny Deol in the first leg.”

The source said, “Diljit has powerful moments with Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan, as well as Ahaan Shetty. He also has a strong backstory for his role.” Anurag Singh is trying to call it rap on ‘Border 2’ till 10 August. “While Sunny Deol wants to finish shooting a large part of his role in the end of June, Diljit Doosanj and Varun Dhawan will wrap their share in the month of August 2025.

Diljit will play the role of Nirmal Jeet Singh Sekhon, a brave Indian Air Force official, who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his courage in the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war. On the other hand, Varun Dhawan will play the role of Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, another war hero, who also attained Param Vir Chakra. Sunny Deol’s role in the film is inspired by the 1999 Kargil war.

Directed by Anurag Singh, ‘Border 2’ also stars Ahaan Shetty, and is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishna Kumar, JP Dutta, and Neel Dutta. The film is expected to hit theaters just beyond Republic Day on 23 January 2026.
