Cool, starring Rajinikanth in The lead role, has been slated to release in theaters on August 14, 2025. Next to the film Hitting Big Screen, the director was seen in an interview with the Hollywood reporter. The director revealed that the superstar hearing the first half indicated the approval.
Rajinikanth agreed to play the lead in Cool only after listening to the first half?
Speaking in the interview, Lokesh Kanagaraja said, “I did not expect it to expect yes. I only narrated in the first half and on the interval block to ask if she will be interested. She immediately said yes. I did not even write the second half. When I returned with the whole script after a few months, she loved it.”
Interestingly, in the same interview, Lokesh revealed how difficult it was for him to convince Nagarjuna Akineni to play opponents. Leo Helmer revealed that the actor recited the film 6-7 times before giving him his approval.
Lokesh remembered how, when he finally went with a bound script for Nagarjuna, the actor agreed to play a negative role and said to him, “Okay, Lokesh. If I don’t do it now, when will I do?”
In addition, the director said that Rajinikanth starrer was given fuel from childhood dreams after watching their films together in Rajinikanth starrer.
