Did Princess Diana ‘escape from lunch’ with the royal family during Christmas celebrations? Here’s what we know

Princess Diana had a strained relationship with members of the royal family. With Christmas approaching, a media report has claimed that the late princess would prefer to skip a traditional meal with her in-laws rather than stay away from any negative energy.

The festival was never Diana’s favourite, as it reminded her of her separation from her mother. However, good memories of the holiday season could not be created with many elements after her wedding.

In a new episode of The Sun’s Royal Exclusive Show, royal experts, Ingrid Seward and Arthur Edward, shared their study of how Diana would cope with the royal pressure of being around members of her family on the day of celebration. “For many years, our Queen Camilla would go away after lunch and spend time with her family in Wiltshire,” Edward said.

Adding to the statement, Seward noted, “Diana always left after lunch. She had to dread these royal family Christmases when things really weren’t going well at all.” Mr. continued, “And she always–and sometimes she would even run away before lunch and stay in the church.”
