Prabhas had a stellar performance with his last release, Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin. This film, which performed brilliantly at the box office across the country, will now have its premiere show in Japan. While the Rebel star was supposed to attend, his recent statement indicates that he will not be able to attend as he is injured.

In a statement released on social media, Prabhas expressed his gratitude for the immense love and good wishes received by the overseas audience for him and his film. He commented how he had been looking forward to visiting Japan for a long time.

However, the actor revealed that he had to miss the premiere show of Kalki 2898 AD in Japan as he sprained his ankle while shooting for a special of his film at that time.

See the statement here:

He wrote, “Thank you for always showering so much love on me and my work. I’ve been waiting to go to Japan for a long time. However, I am very sad to say that I sprained my ankle during filming and was unable to attend. Our distributors, Twin, have been extremely supportive and we are grateful for all their efforts in getting ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ ready for release on Friday, January 3. I hope to see you soon. Radiance.”

While the actor missed being a part of the premiere, the makers assured that they will not be disappointed as filmmaker Nag Ashwin will be attending the event in place of Prabhas.

The film’s release in Japan is falling during the special period of Shogatsu and it is expected to enthrall the audience with its stellar performance.

Let us tell you, Prabhas is currently busy shooting for Hanu Raghavapudi’s war drama Fauji, which is scheduled to release sometime in late 2025.

Apart from this, the actor has many projects in the queue. These also include the sequel of his 2023 film Salaar 2.

Other projects include Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s highly ambitious project Spirit. Prabhas will also play a special role in Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa.
