Monica Shergill, the vice -president of Netflix’s vice -president content, made beans on the filmmaker’s initial plans.
In a conversation with IndiatV Showbiz, Monica Shergill shared that Sanjay Leela Bhansali was considering Hiramandi as ‘cinema’, and was even written keeping the script in mind. He shared, “There was one thing in his mind that this is to be crown from India. This hair was shaped.”
Monica shared that the show was set at a different time and place, but pushed forward the ‘relevant’ sentiments and admitted that such universal subjects work not only in the country but also globally. He revealed that SLB itself composed the music music music and made his cinema ‘closer to the hearts of the people’. However, Netflix India Content Head admitted that he did not compromise on anything to give his show a proper cinematic experience.
Talking about working with the famous filmmaker, he called it ‘The Best Time’. He shared that he is not just a manufacturer, but an unprecedented person who adds details to everything. Monica Shergill said, “He tried to understand streaming as a medium and to ensure that he reacted several times that he was catering for streaming audiences, the way he prefers to catering without compromising on his story.”
Monica also said how streaming platforms have opened new creative avenues for filmmakers and storytellers, giving them the freedom to experiment with style mixtures, extended stories and multi-seasons.
Unlike cinema, where characters can be immortal, but limited to the same story, streaming allows the audience to re -look and re -experience those characters and moments. He shared that Sanjay Leela Bhansali also adopted the opportunity, and chose a long format to bring his vision into life in a more immersive way.
