Candace Owens sparked new debate online after responding to a New York Times report about President Donald Trump’s alleged phone call with Charlie Kirk before Kirk’s death. Shortly after Owens shared his thoughts on X, Laura Loomer accused him of suggesting that Trump was responsible for the murder of Charlie Kirk. However, Owens never made this claim directly. The discussion began after a New York Times article by Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan reported that Trump was unhappy with criticism surrounding his handling of the past files controversy. Trump reportedly called Charlie Kirk after the Turning Point USA event, where speakers criticized Attorney General Pam Bondi’s response to the issue, the report said. Owens then linked the report to his own timeline of events surrounding Kirk’s death, sparking a wave of reactions online. While many users supported Owens, others completely disagreed with his comments. So far, neither Donald Trump nor Erica Kirk have publicly responded to Owens’ latest comments. Charlie Kirk was murdered on September 10, 2025, during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

Candace Owens’ post about Donald Trump and Charlie Kirk draws attention

After the New York Times report came out, Candace Owens shared a post on X discussing the alleged phone call between Donald Trump and Charlie Kirk. Owens wrote, “It was shocking to learn that Donald Trump called Charlie and reprimanded him about his coverage of the Epstein files. On July 12, a day after my continued urging, I decided to kill Charlie, according to our timeline.”The words gained attention online. However, Owens did not directly accuse Trump of murdering Charlie Kirk. Instead, he referenced his own theory and timeline when discussing the reported call. Laura Loomer disagreed with Owens and accused him of constantly changing his claims. In a separate post, Loomer mocked Owens’ comments and questioned his earlier suggestions about who might be involved. Owens has previously questioned the official story surrounding Kirk’s murder, but many of his claims remain unproven.
