The actor spoke on the topic at an event in New Delhi on Wednesday, where he was asked about his contribution to the humor of the franchise.

In response, he recalled one of Dhurandhar’s most memorable comic lines, “Your ass is so white”, delivered during a scene involving ducks. Citing Samvaad as an example, he dismissed rumors that the script of the franchise originated in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

He said, “Now no one can write this line. When this film became a hit, some people said that Dhurandhar’s script was written by the PMO. I said, tell me who is the person in PMO who can write this line. No one can even think like this (No one could have written that line. When the film became a hit, some people claimed that the script stalwart Came straight from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). I said, ‘Tell me, who in the PMO can write such a line?’ No one could even think of something like this).”

Rakesh further revealed that the comic relief seen in films was not originally a major part of the script. According to him, the idea emerged when he read the script several times and realized that the intense spy thriller could benefit from some lighter moments.

Rakesh said that after reading the script two-three times, he realized that it was not only tense but also very serious. Given his natural inclination towards comedy, he felt that there were many moments where a touch of humor could have been added to provide comic relief.

“I said to Aditya, ‘I can see some places where we can add some humor. Should I try it?’ He replied, ‘Rakesh ji, it is difficult to say right now. Let’s see how things unfold as we move forward and work on it. Initially, he was a bit reluctant, but as we progressed, he started enjoying it and I also started enjoying it,” said the actor.
