Dhurandhar: The Revenge made Rs. The film earned around Rs 73-74 crore on its opening day in India on Thursday. Adding Rs. With around Rs 39 crore collected from Wednesday previews, the Ranveer Singh starrer’s total box office till Thursday is Rs. 112-113 crores net approx. There is a slight delay in the numbers coming today, so there is a possibility of them going up or down a bit. The first day collection is the highest ever for any Bollywood film, earning Rs. The jawan’s total assets are Rs 64.50 crore.
The film has performed well in Maharashtra, Delhi, East Punjab and Southern circuits. There was a holiday in Maharashtra and South India, but despite this, both of them, along with Delhi-UP and East Punjab, were excellent debutantes and have continued to do so here too. Mysore and East Punjab were the two circuits to set opening day records, with a few more possible. Nizam would have been a record, but it faced competition from a bigger local release, keeping it short. Most of the circuits are close to records and if the preview had not taken place a large part of the demand would have been wasted.
The Eastern Circuit, West Bengal and Assam, were comparatively weak performers, but this is probably due to real-world factors, which was the case for the debut as well. There is scope for more effort in the Hindi circuit as it was a non-holiday, mid-week release. They should be on board over the weekend, especially tomorrow, with the big Eid holiday.
The film should move ahead strongly today with similar progress to Thursday. Typically, the advance-to-final ratio improves after the first day. If that’s the case here, the film can still go ahead today. There will be some decline in Maharashtra and the South, but the rest should remain stable or bounce back. Delhi-NCR will also see a surge along with other metros and A centres, which will benefit from the Eid holiday tomorrow, which will help the night shows. The industry generally dislikes pre-Eid, which is exaggerated to some extent, but it’s not really a factor here. Should today remain the same as Thursday, or even grow a bit more, which is likely, the film will make around Rs. Earning of Rs 185 crore in two days. Then there are two big holidays, which will set new standards for Hindi cinema and the four-day weekend will fetch Rs. Will take you above. 350 crore nett, potentially close to Rs. 375 crores.
