Dhurandhar box office collection: Ranveer Singh’s film earned double the first day on second Friday

Dhurandhar grossed approximately US$1.40 million (₹12.50 crore) on its second Friday at the overseas box office. This is almost double compared to its opening day on Friday last week. This takes its total earnings of 8 days to approximately US$7.90 million (Rs 71 crore). Combined with Rs. 263 crores from India, worldwide box office collection is Rs. Approximately 334 crores. By the end of this weekend, the film will close at Rs. 500 crore figure.

The second Friday business for Dhurandhar is the biggest for Indian cinema. This is because the film has not only failed to release in the Middle Eastern markets, but is also suffering from capacity constraints in all major markets. Although today things have improved a bit in some of them, it is still nowhere close to accommodating the demand.

Despite severe capacity issues, Australia recorded the biggest second Friday ever for an Indian film. In the United States, Dhurandhar posted the second-highest second Friday of all time with US$625K, behind only Baahubali 2 (US$785K). Canada was also the second largest after Animal. These two combined, North America, which is the reporting benchmark, resulted in the second-highest Friday for Indian films. United Kingdom also saw a very strong day, coming second behind Pathan.

The film is on track to gross over US$5 million in its second weekend, which would be almost 70 percent more than its opening weekend. By Sunday it will exceed US$11 million. Estimates for the film’s full run are rising every day, and it is now a serious contender for the final haul of over US$20 million. This US$20 million will come from the strength of major markets, with minimal contribution from smaller regions. If these sectors pick up, the film could move towards US$25 million.

The overseas regional breakdown for Dhurandhar is as follows:

area Total
United States of America USD 3,265,000
