Dhurandhar 2 actor defends hijacker role: Should we call terrorist to action?
Vivek Sinha, who played kidnapper Zahoor Mistry in Dhurandhar, defended his decision to play the role. He also shared a female audience’s reaction to his performance.
Actor Vivek Sinha, who played kidnapper Zahoor Mistry stalwart (2025) and Dhurandhar: The Revenge (2026)shared the reaction of a female viewer who said he should be ashamed for accepting the role in the spy thriller. The actor opened up about his interactions with the audience.
Sinha, in an interview with PTIHe said, “A few days ago, I got a message on Instagram in which someone said that I should be ashamed that I accepted a role in a film for some money. A woman wrote to me about how I talked about Hindus in this way, being a Hindu myself. I thought should I reply to her or should I leave? Then I thought why not? Let me express my point and let it reach them. So I left a voice note for her.”

The actor, while describing his character’s portrayal in the film, highlighted that a film is a “mirror of society”. “Now, if in a film – which is a mirror to the society – we show how the characters behave. So in a situation where a dangerous terrorist from Pakistan has entered India without caring for his life. If we have to portray such a character in a film who is threatening at gunpoint, and if we have to show his way of thinking, then how does he say that Hindus are cowards,” he added.
Sinha sarcastically asked whether a terrorist from Pakistan should have been called to play this role. “So when we have to show that character, should we call a terrorist from Pakistan to shoot the film? We just have to do that or not? So that we can understand what he is trying to say, so that we can show to what extent he can go by being so brutal. If someone is killing in the film, should we call the real killers from the jail to take action? So I sent him a voice note and he is yet to respond,” said the actor.
In stalwartDuring the hijack sequence, Sinha’s character Zahoor says, “Hindus are a fearful community, we live in the neighborhood, use force as a good brother and spoil those who can spoil. (Hindus are a cowardly community, we live in the neighborhood, use all your strength and destroy whatever you can).” The actor’s dangerous act has attracted a lot of attention.
Sequel of the film apart from Sinha Dhurandhar: Revenge It stars actors Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Danish Pandor and Rakesh Bedi in lead roles. It is co-produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios.
