2011 film Mad Crazy Mad It is reportedly set to return to theaters as a tribute to the late legendary star Dharmendra. The re-release of the film, which originally brought together Dharmendra and his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, will give audiences a chance to celebrate the actor’s legacy on the big screen.

A source told the portal, “The re-release of Mad Crazy Mad It will serve as a tribute to a man who was unanimously loved and who left an indelible mark on the world of cinema. The film seems suitable for re-release as it is not very old, yet feels fresh and entertaining and it also stars Dharmendra along with his two sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol.”

The decision to re-release the film reflects the widespread affection for Dharmendra, who has been admired by audiences for generations.

The original plan was to bring Mad Crazy Mad Returns to theaters on December 19, 2025. However, changes have been made to the release schedule.

“At first, the plan was to re-release Mad Crazy Mad This Friday, December 19th. but due to stalwart Wave, NH Studios, which owns the rights to the film, has decided to change plans. Mad Crazy Mad It is now expected to hit theaters on January 1, 2026. A final decision will be taken in a few days from now,” the source said.

Mad Crazy MadDirected by Sameer Karnik, its name is taken from the song I go to Yamla crazy crazy from the 1975 film PledgeIn which Dharmendra was also there. The 2011 film included a remix version of the iconic song, which contributed to its popularity upon initial release.

The story of the film is based on an Indian living in Canada who goes to Banaras in search of his estranged father and brother. As the trio travels to Punjab, they encounter many comical situations while trying to help the younger brother win his girlfriend’s heart.
