Actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee criticised Payal Malik for defending her marriage to YouTuber Armaan Malik and taking a dig at her relationship with husband Shahnawaz Sheikh. Devoleena emphasised that she knows her husband is loyal and does not support polygamy.

Devoleena had criticised the couple’s marriage. Recently, after her eviction, Payal responded to Devoleena’s views, saying that the actor has no right to comment on their relationship.

Following the comment, the ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’ actor shared a clip of Payal’s statement on his Instagram story, expressing his views.

“One needs to have a high level of knowledge to compare inter-religious marriage and polygamy which I am sure intelligent people are quite aware of. And it is not just my right but every Indian’s right to stand against an illegal act like polygamy which they take quite proud to show on national television. Anyway, it is a matter of personal destiny,” he shared, “Just don’t make fun of the lives of poor women who suffer every day and night because of this nonsense and die a little every day (sic),” he wrote.

The actor further added, “Otherwise do whatever you want to do. Why stop at two? Have 2, 4 or 5 marriages. Just don’t spread this disease in society. I mean whatever I said and I stand by it even today. And anyway it’s nothing new for me that people are making YouTube content on me. Please respect.”
Earlier, Devoleena had criticised reality TV for promoting polygamy. The actor also called out the makers of Bigg Boss for their selection process.

In June, YouTuber Armaan Malik joined ‘BB OTT 3’ along with his wives Kritika Malik and Payal Malik. Their unique family structure created a lot of buzz in the entertainment industry. Payal has now been eliminated from the show.
