Devra Part 1 starring Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan has performed well at the Hindi box office. The marine-adventure drama directed by Koratala Siva ended its first week in Hindi with an impressive collection of Rs 43 crore. The film is heading towards a good performance in the second week of festivals.
Devara in Hindi nears Rs 45 crore; showing good grip
After taking an opening of Rs 7.50 crore in Hindi, Devara registered a rise in collections over the weekend and ended its first weekend at Rs 26.5 crore. The film faced a big decline on the first Monday and it seemed that it would not be able to earn big in Hindi. However, its trends in subsequent days painted a different picture.
The film did well on Tuesday and Wednesday (Gandhi Jayanti), helping it make a respectable first week. As per estimates, with the net collection of Rs 2.25 crore in Hindi on Thursday, the total collection of Devara has reached Rs 43 crore in its opening week.
Talking about worldwide collections, the film has entered the Rs 300 crore club and has achieved a respectable figure in its first week.
Despite not being a Bollywood release, Devara serves as a good filler
Devara performed better in non-national series and single screens in the North Belt, reflecting Jr NTR’s shining stardom among the heartland masses. Moreover, the film directed by Koratala Siva serves as a good filler despite there being no Bollywood release this week. The poor calendar planning of the Hindi film industry has definitely helped Devara show a good hold at the box office.
The film performs best in Telugu and Hindi, while its poor performance in the Tamil and Malayalam versions is quite worrying. Even at the international level, the film could not attract the audience much.
Due to the Navratri and Dussehra festival period, Devara is expected to perform well in the second week. Although the film has received mixed reviews, it has still managed to register good viewership, taking its path to a favorable end. The real test will begin in the third weekend with new releases and lower show numbers.

About Devara
Devara: Part 1 starring Jr. NTR in the lead role tells the story of a man who is both feared and respected among four villages in the coastal region known as Devara. The film depicts his journey as a mobster and how he eventually turns against crime and becomes an urban legend. It also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles.
