Defense exports worth Rs 21,000 crore increased 10 times in ten years: Rajnath Singh

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said India’s goal of becoming a global manufacturing hub for defense has taken a leap with a ten-fold increase in defense exports in the last decade. Sharing the figures, he said that India’s exports have increased from Rs 20,000 crore to a record Rs 21,000 crore. Rs 2,000 crore ten years ago.

Mr Singh further said that India has set a target of annual defense exports to cross Rs. 50,000 crore within the next five years. He was addressing officers at the Army War College in Mhow Cantonment, Madhya Pradesh.

“Our defense exports, which were around Rs 2,000 crore a decade ago, have today crossed a record figure of Rs 21,000 crore. We have set an export target of Rs 50,000 crore by 2029,” Mr Singh said.

The Defense Minister’s speech focused on the evolving nature of war globally. He emphasized on how essential it is to master frontier technologies in today’s age of technology.

Elaborating on his statement, Mr Singh said, “Unconventional methods of warfare – such as information warfare, artificial intelligence or AI-based warfare, proxy warfare, electromagnetic warfare, space warfare and cyber attacks pose a major challenge.” Are.” He stressed the need for the army to be well trained and equipped to deal with such attacks.

Speaking about the challenges at the global level, Mr Singh said that in future some officers will be sent as defense attaches. They have to ensure that national interests are protected at the global level. Only through self-reliance can India strengthen its defense capabilities and gain greater respect on the world stage.” Can achieve.”
