Bollywood actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, who became parents to a baby girl on Sunday, September 8, shared the happy news on social media. The couple wrote in a joint post, “Welcome baby girl. 8-9-2024. Deepika and Ranveer.”

As soon as the couple shared the post, congratulations started pouring in. Alia Bhatt, her sister Shaheen Bhatt, Rubina Dilaik, Amrita Khanvilkar, Athiya Shetty, Malaika Arora and many others commented on Deepika and Ranveer’s post.

Deepika and Ranveer announced their pregnancy in February this year. She shared a post on Instagram that read, “September 2024”, with cute motifs of baby clothes, baby shoes and balloons. During her pregnancy, Deepika remained active on the professional front and was often spotted at public events.

Just a day before being admitted to the hospital, Deepika along with Ranveer visited the Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai and sought the blessings of the Lord.

Earlier, even before Deepika’s pregnancy, Ranveer had expressed his desire to have a daughter.

Speaking on his TV show The Big Picture, the actor had said, “As you all know, I am married and will have kids in 2-3 years. Bhaisahab, your Bhabhi was such a cute baby, wasn’t she? I see her baby pictures everyday, I say give me one like that, my life will be set.” (As you know, I am married and may have children in the next two or three years. Your Bhabhi was such a cute child. I see her childhood photos every day and tell her to give me such a child, my life will be better)

The love between Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone started in 2012 itself. They got married on November 14 and 15, 2018, at Lake Como in Italy. On the eighth season of the popular talk show Koffee with Karan hosted by Karan Johar, the couple finally shared their wedding video for the first time in five years. During the episode, Ranveer had also revealed that he had proposed to Deepika in the Maldives in 2015.
