Actor Deepika Padukone announced the launch of ‘Padukone School of Badmin (PBS)’ on her father’s 70th birthday. The actor shared the news on his official Instagram account, which with a beautiful note dedicated to his father and famous badminton player, Prakash Padukone.

The caption on the post states, “As someone plays the role of badminton, I have experienced for the first time how much this game can give this game to someone’s life – physically, mentally and emotionally. Through Padukone School of Badminton (PSB), we hope to motivate badminton and discipline for all people of life, and build a generation.

About Deepika Padukone’s badminton school

As mentioned in an official press release shared by the actor, Badminton’s Padukone schools are expanding in 75 centers a year, targeting 250 centers by 2027 to cause ‘all for badminton’. The school has already established coaching centers at more than 75 grassroots levels in 18 Indian cities – including Bengaluru, NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Jaipur, Pune, Nashik, Masuru, Pinipat, Dehradun, Udaipur, Coimbatore, Sangli and Saraut.

Padukone described this vision as a contribution to make India a healthy, fitter and more sports -friendly nation. He said, “As someone who is playing badminton, I have experienced for the first time how much this game can give a life to someone’s life – physically, mentally and emotionally. Through PSB, I hope that we can bring badminton’s pleasure and discipline to people in all areas of life, and can build a generation, which is healthy, more concentrated, and the game is motivated.”

His father has joined PSB as former World No. 1 and All-England Champion, a patron and advisor. He underlined the importance of discipline and flexibility, while explaining what PSB means.

“Sport is an integral part of growing up – it inspires discipline, flexibility and a winning mentality that extends well beyond court. With PSB, our goal is to nourish quality coaching accessible and cheap, ground talent, and set a strong base for the future of Indian badminton,” a statement said in a statement.

The vision of PSB is to democratizing access to quality and inexpensive badminton coaching, which provides opportunities for people of all ages and skill levels. With over 100 coaches trained under a structured certification program and access to state -of -the -art facilities, the PSB coaching system ensures continuity, quality and ability to identify and nourish future champions.
