The new iPad mini became available globally earlier this week, so let’s take a look at pricing and some options.
The Apple iPad Mini (2024) now has 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM in the base configuration. The latter is paired with an A17 Pro chipset that has been downgraded to support Apple Intelligence. These AI features will be coming soon as part of the iPadOS 18.1 update (and will be limited to the US initially). There are also some other upgrades over the older Mini, like faster Wi-Fi 6E and USB-C connectivity (up from 5Gbps to 10Gbps). But you’re still getting an 8.3” 60Hz IPS LCD, even though this chip properly drives a 120Hz display on the iPhone 15 Pro.

The older iPad Mini (2021) is still available and it’s cheaper. It’s hard to recommend the base storage of 64GB as it will become quite tight between iPadOS and app updates, let alone storing files. You can look at the 256GB model, but you can also get a 2024 tablet at that price.

For example, Apple Intelligence is available on devices with the Apple A Pro chipset as well as M-series chips – like the new iPad Pro. These are still the only devices with the Apple M4 chip and feature a huge increase in performance compared to the older M2-based iPad Pros.
We’ve linked the 256GB (also available with 512GB of storage) and 1TB (and 2TB) versions of the iPad Pro (2024) and they’re different. The smaller capacity model has 8GB RAM and 9-core CPU, while the higher capacity model has 16GB RAM and 10-core CPU. Only higher-end tablets have the option of nano-textured glass, but keep in mind that it’s an expensive upgrade.

Moving on from tablets, the new Apple AirPods 4 also come in two variants – without ANC and with ANC. Active noise cancellation costs extra, but you’ll appreciate its benefits when traveling or working in a noisy office. The ANC-enabled model also features wireless charging (you can use your Apple Watch charger or a MagSafe charger) and a small speaker to help you locate the case.

The Apple Watch Series 10 is thinner and lighter than previous models, plus it has the largest display on any Apple smartwatch. It’s a kind of mini-ultra with a depth gauge that can track your dive up to 20 feet (and it also has a water temperature sensor). Apple has also upgraded the speaker, so you can listen to music or podcasts directly from your watch, no headphones required.

You can still get the old Apple Watch Series 9. It has received a sleep apnea tracking feature as an update with watchOS 11. It has an ECG sensor and heart rate tracking, but keep in mind that the Series 9 and 10 watches (and Ultra 2) have their blood-oxygen sensors disabled in the US.

Finally, there are good discounts on the 2023 Apple Mac Mini with the help of coupons. It’s powered by the Apple M2 chip (a pricier version is also available with the M2 Pro) and has two Thunderbolt ports, an HDMI port, Gigabit Ethernet, and Wi-Fi 6E compatibility. It is not praiseworthy but it is whispering peace. macOS is also getting a dose of Apple Intelligence.
