Dealmaker DAM Capital Advisors plans the public issue

MUMBAI: Boutique Indian dealmaker DAM Capital Advisors is mulling a public float, reflecting Mumbai’s rapid emergence as a top investment-banking hub with numerous public issues, qualified institutional placements (QIPs) and huge funding appetite in Asia’s third-largest economy. gives Secondary-market block deals by promoters and long-term investors.

Veteran investment banker Dharmesh Mehta’s DAM Capital, which has done dozens of public issues and stake sales in the last three-and-a-half years, is likely to launch its own public issue in six months and has appointed a banker, sources said. Nuwama Investment Banking is handling the IPO process, one of the sources said.

DAM Capital is likely to venture into wealth management business, PMS, AIF and retail broking with fresh capital to compete with the likes of ICICI Securities, IIFL Securities, Nuwama, Motilal Oswal and JM Financial.
