Deal: Google Pixel 9 is £200 off, Pixel 9 Pro comes with free smartwatch

2024 is almost over and some of the best phones launched this year are on sale right now.

We haven’t seen the vanilla Google Pixel 9 for a while – since it was discounted by £100 a month ago – but it’s back with a bang. More specifically, the vanilla model is £200 off right now. In fact, if you have a Prime Student subscription, you can get an additional 10% off the price.

Unfortunately, there’s only £100 off the Google Pixel 9 Pro, but an extra 10% discount still applies for Prime Student members. And it comes with a free Fitbit Versa 4.

The offer isn’t quite as good for the larger Google Pixel 9 Pro XL – just £100 off, plus 10% off if you have Prime Student active. However, no free smartwatch.

The Xiaomi 14T features a premium 6.67” 12-bit display with Dolby Vision and HDR+. It is a 1220p+ panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. The camera consists of a 50MP main (1/1.56”, OIS), a 50MP 50mm portrait cam (2x) and a 12MP ultra-wide (12mm). The phone is powered by the Dimensity 8300 Ultra and a 5,000mAh battery with 67W wired-only charging.

The Xiaomi 14T Pro upgrades that formula with an aluminum body (the 14T and 14T Pro are both IP68 rated, but the vanilla model has a plastic chassis), as well as the faster Dimensity 9300+. It has a larger 50MP sensor on the main (1/1.31”, OIS) and a slightly better tele camera (50MP 60mm, 2.6x), as well as the option for 8K video recording. The battery is of the same capacity but it has faster wired charging (120W) and it also does wireless charging (50W). Here is a detailed comparison between Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro.

At almost the same price as the 14T, you can pick up the Poco F6 Pro instead. It has the same 6.67” 12-bit display with Dolby Vision and HDR10+. The resolution is high (1440p+), which more than makes up for the slightly lower refresh rate (120Hz). It sacrifices camera quality (50MP 1/1.55” main with OIS, 8MP ultra-wide, no tele) for higher performance with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The battery capacity is 5,000mAh and it supports 120W wired-only charging.

The Poco F6 is a cheap but still very fast phone – it has the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 inside. The display is almost as good as the Pro with similar specs except 1220p+ resolution.
