Fans have been waiting for Deadpool and Wolverine for a long time. It was speculated that Marvel Studios would take over Fox’s R-rated movie franchise. Hugh Jackman’s return as Logan is also eagerly awaited. Jackman is wearing the iconic yellow and blue Wolverine suit this time.

It’s no easy mission for Deadpool and Wolverine in the film. The multiverse threat threatens to destroy Deadpool’s home, putting Logan and Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson in danger. Logan has a chance at redemption, though Wade’s lies and attitude lead to a lot of fighting. In one of the MCU’s most explosive endings, they put their differences aside.

Deadpool and Wolverine face off against the insane Cassandra Nova

Logan and Wade are thrown into the Void, which was introduced in Loki season 1. As a result of Deadpool stealing Logan from Logan’s reality, they are retconned out of existence. To ensure that Wade can remain with his loved ones, Logan will act as an “anchor being” to stabilize Wade’s reality (Earth-10005). Mr. Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen), who leads a rogue cell of the Time Variance Authority, exiles them to show that they can increase the efficiency of the TVA by using time rippers to eliminate Wade’s world. Ultimately, Wade and Logan form a team to confront Cassandra Nova in the Void.

In the Borderlands, a wasteland where people try to escape Alioth into the Void, Cassandra is allowed to live freely as the deceased Professor Xavier’s variant twin. Together with Wesley Snipes’ Blade, Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, Channing Tatum’s Gambit, and Dafne Keen’s X-23, they rebel. Wade plans to obtain Juggernaut’s helmet, place it on Cassandra, drain her powers, and send her back in time using a secret time device that belonged to Doctor Strange. To escape the Void, Pyro shoots Cassandra and makes his deal with Paradox.

Logan and Wade shot him down and Wolverine saved him. Xavier didn’t want him to stand aside and watch someone die, so he asked him to remove the helmet. As the film progresses, Logan regrets leaving the X-Men. After a night of drinking, he returned and found that they were dead. Seeking revenge, he killed both good and bad people. The suit made him feel like a hero and part of his X-Men team, but now he wants to be Wolverine, the man everyone thinks he can be.

Deadpool and Wolverine fight the Deadpool Corps

After healing, Cassandra sends them to Wade’s TVA cell with the device (a sling ring from the Sorcerer). This happens just as Alioth consumes his base. However, Cassandra decides to become evil again after killing Pyro. After being betrayed by Pyro and considered a wildcard by Paradox, she can’t trust anyone. After learning about the Time Ripper from Pyro’s mind, Cassandra moves to destroy the TVA. She can consume the world with this apocalyptic device.

She will destroy all realities because the Multiverse never loved her. To use the machine, the psychic kidnaps Paradox and possesses him. Logan and Wade try to stop him, but their efforts are hindered by his henchmen: the Deadpool Corps. Logan and Wade use Nicepool as an ally in an intense battle. Due to Wade using Nicepool as a shield, this results in Nicepool’s death. Wade doesn’t mind that Nicepool has no regenerative abilities because he will now be able to raise Nicepool’s dog Pool alone.

However, Deadpool revives after the core is shattered. Then Peter appears just when it seems like Wolverine and Deadpool are about to be killed. Deadpool has a Peter, and they will listen to him no matter what. Having a good attitude turns out to be Peter’s strength. Wade trusts that Peter is his support. Peter initially tries to convince Wade to keep being a hero.

After Wade’s Cable drama, the Avengers on Earth-616 rejected his application, resulting in Wade destroying the Time-Slider and being depressed for years. Even though this alienated his beloved Vanessa, Peter remained loyal. He constantly reminded Wade to be a hero. Seeing Peter in Wade’s old X-Force costume inspired Deadpool in a way he had never experienced before. After making peace with the Corps, Logan and he set out to stop Cassandra.

Deadpool and Wolverine take on the Time Ripper

Paradox tells Wolverine and Wade that the machine has an outlet. If someone bridges the positive matter tube and the anti-matter tube the machine will lose power. Short-circuiting the ports Cassandra had put her hand into will burn her and the device. Logan is beaten by Wade and Wade decides to make a sacrifice. He believes Wolverine should get a second chance. Since Wade lied to Logan that the TVA had wiped his past clean, he should owe Wolverine a favor.

Wade creates a bridge, but he cannot reach the other tube. To complete the circuit, Wolverine breaks down the door, grabs Wade’s hand, and extends his claws. Wade and Logan both absorb the energy, killing Cassandra in the process. This confirms that they are friends who will do anything to save Wade’s reality. After working with X-23 and the others, Logan understands again what family means. Due to the fact that the two men share the bridge, they were able to survive.

The real TVA, led by Loki’s B-15, arrives. As a result of Paradox’s attempt to cover up his crimes, he is imprisoned. In another comic scene, Peter testifies for Logan and Wade, showing that even the TVA respects him. B-15 says that undoing Logan’s past is impossible and unnecessary. Wade asks if Logan’s past can be undone. “Without it, he wouldn’t have become the best Wolverine ever,” as Deadpool eloquently stated. The TVA departs, leaving Wade and Logan to eat shawarma and parody the Avengers post-credits.

Logan has finally found peace. While playing with Dogpool, he accepts that superheroes can overcome depression, adversity, and pain. Furthermore, Deadpool is happy not only because Wolverine’s spirit is saved, but also because he has saved his world. After facing multiple Wolverine forms in multiple realities, he thought this was the worst. However, Logan changed the direction of his life, saving his loved ones in the process.

A new family and fresh start for Deadpool and Wolverine

Wade doesn’t want Wolverine to be alone again. Deadpool invites Wolverine home to mingle with Blind Al, Colossus, Shatterstar, and the rest of his family. This time Wolverine isn’t stoic or bitter. Being around people he loves in a new world where he can start over makes him happy. There’s no point in experiencing life alone. The picture of Wade’s Inner Circle inspires him to atone throughout the film, so he accepts to meet everyone in person.

It’s a huge bonus that the TVA rescued X-23 and brought her home. In Logan, she lost her Wolverine, but now she has a new one. Ironically, her speech also helped remind Logan that everyone believes in him. Wolverine later encourages Wade to reconcile with Vanessa, making him a big brother figure. Wade has his idol, his dream team-up, and an even bigger family, while Logan has a healthy soul, something he never thought he’d get in Shawn Levy’s film.

Deadpool and Wolverine are currently playing in theaters.
