Actress Priyanka Chopra remembered her father Ashok Chopra on his death anniversary with unseen old pictures and an emotional message. Reflecting on their timeless bond, Priyanka expressed the deep emptiness she feels when it comes to her father’s presence in her life.

Sharing a series of photos with her late father on Instagram, the 43-year-old wrote, “You and I always dance together. Miss you dad. You’re always here… in every decision and every moment of life. Love you.”

Reacting to Priyanka’s post, her cousin, actor Mira Chopra commented, “Dad talks about him often. He was so kind and full of love with such an infectious laugh. We all miss him so much. (three heart emojis) (sic).” Actors Varun Dhawan and Patralekhaa also commented with heart emojis.

Ashok Chopra was a physician and surgeon who served in the Indian Army Medical Corps and retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He died on 10 June 2013 in Mumbai at the age of 62, after a long battle with terminal cancer that began in 2008. A few months before his death, Priyanka honored him by getting a tattoo.

Speaking earlier during his appearance on Jimmy Fallon The Tonight ShowPriyanka said, “I was very close to my father. He was my biggest champion, my biggest cheerleader, like the loudest guy in the room. You know if I won an award he would be like, ‘Ahh!’ (sic).”

On the work front, Priyanka was recently seen Stronghold 2Which also stars Richard Madden and Stanley Tucci in lead roles. She will also return to Indian cinema with the upcoming Telugu-language epic fantasy science fiction action-adventure film Varanasi. The film is directed by SS Rajamouli, who wrote the screenplay with V Vijayendra Prasad, and produced by Sri Durga Arts and Showing Business.

Varanasi It also stars Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles.
