Adivi Shesh and Mrunal Thakur team up for the high-octane heist thriller Dacait, which will release in Ugadi 2026. The teaser of the upcoming Telugu film was released on 18 December.

Directed by Shenil Dev, dacoit It is now set to release in theaters in March 2026, and its release will coincide with the Ugadi festival. The film was initially scheduled to release on Christmas but was later postponed. Notably, the project has also seen a major casting change, with Mrunal Thakur stepping in after Shruti Haasan walked out of the film.
The teaser begins with Adivasi Shesh planning a heist, presenting Thakur’s character as an equal participant rather than a spectator. What starts as a plan quickly turns into execution, with the rapid-fire shootouts, chase scenes and ticking urgency in the teaser suggesting that things won’t go according to plan.
One of the standout moments of the teaser sees Thakur firmly in control, taking the wheel as the story changes. From there, the heist embarks on a chaotic heist, with both leads working under pressure as bullets fly and escape routes narrow.

The film has a strong ensemble cast including Anurag Kashyap, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zain Marie Khan and Kamakshi Bhaskarla. The film also marks the Telugu debut of Anurag Kashyap as an actor.

The story and screenplay is co-written by Shesh and Shenil Dev, while the dialogues are written by Abburi Ravi. The music is composed by Bheems Cecirollo, while the cinematography is by Danush Bhaskar.
The film will be released in theaters on March 19, 2026.
