Cynthia Erivo has opened up about the physical and mental demands she faced while filming Wicked. Speaking at the Academy Museum during a Q&A session with Kristen Bell, the actor revealed how much effort he put into the role. His intense routine included long hours, challenging stunts and minimal sleep.
Erivo shared her commitment to pushing herself physically and mentally, saying, “I consciously run toward things that will utilize me physically, as well as mentally, because I believe in “That the body and mind are actually intrinsically linked.”
One of the most surprising details Cynthia Erivo shared was her sleep schedule. During filming, she slept an average of only three hours each night. Her hectic routine started with a two-hour workout early in the morning, followed by a two-hour sit in the makeup chair before her 5 a.m. call time.
The physicality of his role required a rigorous schedule. He said, “Sometimes the body is the thing that tells the brain what to do, and sometimes the brain is the thing that tells the body what to do.” He further said that he is a very physical person; She wants both things to be functional and to be used.
Much of Cynthia’s preparation involved building strength for the flying scenes in Wicked. The actress admitted that she had limited flying experience but was determined to take up the challenge.
“I had never flown before. I just knew I wanted to do it,” she said. He said that it is important for the core to be the strongest because the strings will carry the person from one place to another.
Erivo worked closely with his stunt coordinator, Joe MacLaren, to prepare for these scenes. She described the physical effort required, saying that if they’re doing loop to loop, which is that big loop, she has to get herself up and around without putting her legs behind her. Despite the difficulty, she was determined to perform her own stunts. “Joe asked me, ‘Are you sure you want to do all this?’ And I said, ‘Yes.’
