Ananya Panday is currently enjoying the positive response her recently released OTT film CTRL is receiving. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, the Screenlife thriller film highlights how social media can be detrimental to one’s mental health and sometimes even fatal. During a promotional interview, the actress said that she doesn’t want apps like Reddit and Photoshop to go out.
Vikramaditya Motwane joins his CTRL muse Ananya Panday for a fun chat with Instant Bollywood. During the conversation, celebs were asked to share about the social media applications that they think should not exist. The Dream Girl 2 actress was quick to take to Reddit. But he changed his answer and said Photoshop. Echoing his response, AP said, “I want to see what people look like without Photoshopping filters.” When asked if people still use the application, Pandey clarified that he meant photo editing apps in general. On the other hand, the director wants X (formerly Twitter) to cease to exist.
Ananya Panday’s film CTRL premiered on Netflix on October 4 and since then it has been receiving appreciation from the audience and celebs from the entertainment industry. A day after watching the 99-minute film, actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu shared a poster of the film on her Instagram Stories. Expressing his thoughts about it he wrote, “Highly recommended and a must watch #CTRL. It’s entertaining from start to finish and exceptionally well made. @ananyapanday you are beautiful, your performance was excellent. This prompted me to immediately pick up my phone and uninstall several apps. Congratulations, Team #CTRL.”
Popular filmmaker Anurag Kashyap was also impressed with the story and the performances of Ananya and Vihaan Samat. Hence, he took to social media to praise the team. Sharing the poster of the film, he wrote, “@motwayne is out with another explosive film. Again pushing the boundaries of technology and storytelling. You can’t stop that man, or put him in a box. Always braver than everyone around you. He has always been my favorite person, he introduced me to my first still camera, he taught me sound design and its importance and introduced me to the Mac Book.
The Gangs of Wasseypur director further added, “Always one step ahead of everyone. Now he’s gone and made this modern horror story a legend. It’s a thriller, it’s scary, it’s a nightmare with a career-best central performance from @ananyapanday. I was lucky to see it on screen but it is now streaming on @netflix.in. Watch it with good headphones. Congratulations to @nikhildwivedi25. It takes the same amount of balls to make it. Good working team.”
Buckingham Murders director Hansal Mehta also thinks Vikramaditya Motwane’s CTRL is ‘a mind-bender and kind of a revelation’. In the caption, Mehta wrote, “@motwayne is one of the most interesting filmmakers of our times. Every film he makes is completely different from his other works. Always innovating, exploring, trying, finding new stories and constantly immersing yourself in new cinematic language. His work from Flight to the latest CTRL can be a little frustrating at times but I have always found his work extremely fascinating. This new film is truly mind-bending and kind of a revelation.”
He also praised Ananya, calling her an ‘amazing talent’ and wrote, “A revelation about our digitalized times and even more so a revelation of a singular talent called @ananyapanday. She owns this turbulent world and gives us humanity and depth.” Lets delve deeper into the mind of someone living in an alternate reality. Absolutely amazing!
