Indian director Payal Kapadia’s famous film, All V Imagine Az Light, lost to the Critics Choice Awards in the Best Foreign Language Film category from the Oscar-Nominated film Emilia Perez. The winners were announced on 8 February (IST).

Other films enrolled in the best foreign language film category include Flow, I am Still Heh, Naikap and The Seed of the Sacred Fig.

Emilia Perez, a Spanish-language crime music, made history by receiving 13 Oscar nominations for the recently 2025 Academy Awards-the highest for a non-English language film.

We all imagine that Light won the first two golden globes.

Ever since it won the Grand Prix in Cannes last year, Payal Kapadia has managed to turn his head at every major international film festival and award ceremony. It received the Jury Grand Award at Asia Pacific Screen Awards, Best International Feature at Gotham Awards and Best International Film Awards at New York Film Critics Circle, among many others.

Payal is praised for its stimulating story as the all -V Imagine Light of Kapadia, which is described through surprising, reflective scenes. The film delicately reveals the emotional weight of place and identity. It includes Divya Prabha, Kani Kusruti, Hiridhu Aaron and Chhaya Kadam in decisive roles among others.

Garh: Honey Bani lost the squad game

Also we imagine all as light, Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s prime video series Garh: Honey Bani was also nominated for the best foreign language series. However, it missed the trophy as the award went to Netflix’s popular series squid game.

Other nominees in the category included Akapulko, La Makina, Lidia Poight, My Greatly Friends, Pachinsco and the law according to the army.
