‘Krazzy 4’ director Jaydeep Sen is in urgent need of a heart transplant. In a recent interview, Sen revealed that he had a ‘narrow escape from death’ twice this year and needs a heart transplant surgery immediately. However, he does not have the required funds for it. He also said that as soon as the film industry came to know about it, many people came forward and helped him financially.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Jaideep Sen said, “I was hospitalised twice this year – in February and May. In the latter, I had a narrow escape from death and had to be put on a ventilator for three days. My cardiologist has told me that I need a heart transplant as there is no other way.”

Talking about the financial crisis he is facing, he said, “Right now I am number one on the recipient list in Mumbai. But the surgery costs Rs 35 lakh and I have been asked to keep another Rs 15 lakh. As per the hospital policy, they can confirm me for the surgery only if the entire Rs 35 lakh is deposited. My savings are very less compared to what I need. Unfortunately, in our industry, you are always underpaid until you become a successful brand.”

Sen also said that the film industry has come forward to help him. “Almost everyone in the industry has come to know about me and some of them have come forward to contribute at their convenience. You can’t put a figure in front of anyone, it’s all about their generosity. So, whatever comes from their heart, I accept it gratefully,” he claimed.

The director said that he has been suffering from this disease since 2011, when he was diagnosed after he fainted in Rakesh Roshan’s office while working on ‘Krrish 3’. He has had an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) installed in his chest for 13 years. This device gives a shock to his heart when his heartbeat increases, which can save him from sudden death.
