Comedian Sudesh Lahiri was injured on the sets of reality show Laughter Chefs a few days ago. A source close to the show told India Today exclusively that the comedian was shooting for an episode with actor Nia Sharma when he was attacked with a knife.

The source said that Nia and Sudesh were cooking together when Sudesh accidentally got a cut from a knife. The source said, “While cooking, his partner Nia Sharma accidentally injured him with a knife. Sudesh was bleeding profusely and was given medical aid. Despite this, the comedian continued shooting, but took leave the next day to recover from his injury.”

The source further added that the incident happened on the same day when another contestant of the show, actress Reem Sheikh, met with an accident while frying food on the set. He said, “While she was trying to fry the food, the oil spilled on her face, causing her to get burnt.”

On Friday, September 20, Reem shared a photo of her wounds and revealed that she was feeling better.

The shooting of the cooking-based comedy show has been halted for now. Recently, Laughter Chef got a three-month extension. Since the required episodes for the first season were already shot, the team decided to give the cast a break so that they can complete their prior commitments. The actors will start shooting for the extended version by the end of this month.
