The cake, which was included in the 52nd birthday celebrations of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay, has found a new fan base in Chennai. Nearly a month after a photo of the celebration went viral, the baker behind one of the cakes says he has sold around 300 to 400 of the same mango vanilla cakes.

In an exclusive interview with India Today, Chennai-based baker Tanvi Bokariya said the sudden demand came after the cake was seen in the birthday picture shared by actor Trisha on June 22. The post showed Trisha and Vijay smiling together and was captioned, “For the one who makes it worth it. HBD (sic).”

This comes a day after Trisha reportedly unfollowed Vijay on Instagram, leading to the post gaining attention online.

While fans closely examined the picture and its details, the cakes shown at the celebration also became the topic of discussion. Bokariya’s Mango Vanilla Cake, in particular, soon started attracting orders from Vijay fans all over Chennai.

“It was overnight fame for us. We didn’t know what occasion the cake was for. It was incredibly special, and it took me completely by surprise. The last two weeks have been extremely chaotic in terms of sales, but I’m grateful for it,” Bokaria told India Today. He said, “My team is a big fan of CM Joseph Vijay.”

According to Bokariya, around 300 to 400 orders for a single cake have been placed in the last two weeks.

“We sold around 300 to 400 CM Vijay birthday cakes in just a few weeks. It was absolutely amazing!” He said.

The cake has also got a new name among the customers. Originally sold as mango cake, it is now known as “CM cake”.

“It’s not called mango cake anymore. It’s called CM cake now. That’s how customers now place their orders: ‘Can we have CM cake?'” Bokaria said.

He said that this was the highest number of orders his team had received for a cake since Vijay got it on his birthday.

The cake became part of the widespread online conversation around Vijay and Trisha after the actor’s birthday post. Fans examined the picture closely and tried to identify the cake seen at the celebration.

According to social media users, the Tiramisu cake was from Patisserie Konkoo Café in Hyderabad, while the Strawberry White Chocolate Cake was identified to be from The Chef House in Chennai. Boccaria’s Mango Vanilla Cake was also recognized by fans.

Some fans also speculated about the number of cakes in the photo and added their own meanings to the description. However, these explanations remain unverified.

With the renewed attention around Vijay and Trisha, one of the birthday cakes has now got a life of its own. What started as a cake served at a private birthday function has, within two weeks, become a popular order in Chennai, where customers now simply ask for “CM cake”.

In recent months, both Vijay and Trisha have repeatedly found themselves at the center of online speculation about their personal relationship. No one has publicly responded to such claims. Their long-standing friendship continues to be widely discussed by fans, with fresh interest emerging after details related to Vijay’s divorce proceedings with his estranged wife Sankageetha Sornalingam came into the public domain.
