Parker made her TV debut on the Steve Harvey-hosted Celebrity Family Feud show alongside her father Clay Aiken, 45, who has competed on American Idol!
According to People, the American Idol runner-up is seen introducing his family in a video shared by ABC’s YouTube channel ahead of the episode’s premiere, during which his son, Parker, 15, appeared on television for the first time. He looked just like his father.
He said, “This is my son Parker making his TV debut.” Harvey punched Parker. The teen asked the host, “What’s going on?”
But the episode didn’t just feature an American Idol runner-up, but also David Foster’s wife, Katharine McPhee.
He revealed that there was another foster on his team. It turned out that his son’s mother, Jameis, is also a foster. Harvey, who appeared surprised, asked if Jameis was David’s sister, to which, he replied, “She’s David’s sister and David’s nephew, yes. David’s sister Jameis is on the right team,” adding that she wanted to win.
It seems artistic talent runs in the Aiken family, as Aiken, 45, spoke to E! News in May about his son, who “was singing all the time.” He added that it’s not something he plans to pursue in his professional life.
Clay said that Parker has chosen a “different path” as the 15-year-old has some other plans he wants to pursue in his life. Clay expressed his happiness for his son.
“My son is very into not only music, but Idol as well,” the 45-year-old said, adding that his uncles David, Kathryn and Ruben Studdard, who are also American Idol alumni, were there for his son.
Clay said he would support his son if he wanted to go on a reality singing show today. “I mean, I think what you should do is support what they want to do,” he said.
Celebrity Family Feud can be seen every Tuesday at 8 pm ET on ABC.
