Actor Chris Hemsworth is in talks to play the lead role in Disney’s upcoming Prince Charming. It will be directed by Paul King. Simon Farnaby and John Crocker are writing the script with King. The film is still in development.

Although specific plot details are hidden, the character of Prince Charming has various origins in literature. In the Disney world, he is commonly portrayed as the boyfriend of several iconic princesses. While often associated with classic animated films like Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, her true origins lie in Cinderella, where Prince Charming is her true love.

According to Deadline, insiders clarified that it will not be directly related to Cinderella.

It’s been a busy year for Chris Hemsworth, starting with the Mad Max prequel Furiosa and lending his voice as Optimus Prime in Paramount’s Transformers One. He is also set to star in the Amazon MGM Studios thriller Crime 101, which is currently in production. Hemsworth is represented by CAA and Morrissey Management.
