The makers of Chiyaan Vikram and director Pa Ranjith’s long-awaited ‘Thangaalan’ announced the trailer release date on July 8. The trailer will release on July 10. The makers shared a poster of Chiyaan Vikram surrounded by fellow workers of Kolar Gold Fields. According to reports, ‘Thangaalan’ is all set for a grand release in theatres in August. The official announcement is still awaited.

On July 8, director Pa Ranjith released a new poster of ‘Thangaalan’ and also revealed the trailer release date. He wrote, “The quest for gold and the fight for liberation meet amidst bloodshed #ThangaalanTrailer 10th July (sic).”

‘Thangalan’ was scheduled to release in January 2024. However, it was postponed multiple times due to unavoidable circumstances. Now, reports suggest that the makers have decided on August 15 as the new release date. The team of ‘Thangalan’ might announce the release date along with the trailer of the film.

‘Thangalan’, directed by Pa Ranjith, is a historical action drama starring Chiyaan Vikram in the lead role. Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, Arjun Anbudan and Sampath Ram are included in the supporting cast.

The story of ‘Thangalan’ is based on the Kolar Gold Fields in Karnataka. Reportedly, the film is about a tribal leader who revolts against the British who try to take over their lands for gold mining.

Jointly produced by Studio Green, Neelam Productions and Jio Studios, ‘Thangalan’ is written by Ranjith, Tamil Prabha and Azhagiya Periyavan. Music composer GV Prakash Kumar, editor Selva RK and cinematographer Kishore Kumar are part of the technical crew.
