Chiranjeevi honored with prestigious NTR National Film Award: ‘Really a big honour, very grateful’

Megastar Chiranjeevi has expressed his heartfelt gratitude after being honored with the prestigious NTR National Film Award as part of Gaddaar Telangana Film Awards 2025. The veteran actor described the recognition as a “really great honour”, noting that an award named after the great NT Rama Rao holds immense emotional and cultural significance. Chiranjeevi thanked the dignitaries for the honor and congratulated all the winners celebrated at the ceremony.

Chiranjeevi wrote on his X handle, "Many congratulations to all the winners of Gaddaar Telangana Film Awards 2025. It is always a pleasure to celebrate the hard work and passion of our film fraternity. My heartfelt thanks to the Government of Telangana, Chief Minister @revanth_anumula garu, @bhatti_Mallu garu and the entire jury for honoring me with the NTR National Film Award. It is indeed a great honor to receive an award in the name of NTR garu. So grateful for the love and support that has been my greatest strength throughout my journey."

The 2025 edition of Gaddaar Telangana Film Awards also featured a set of special honors celebrating leading figures of Indian cinema. Along with Chiranjeevi’s NTR National Film Award, the Nagireddy-Chakrapani Award was announced for veteran producer Ashwini Dutt. Kamal Haasan won the Paidi Jayaraj Award, while acclaimed actress Jayasudha received the Akkineni Award. Other honorees include lyricist Sudala Ashok Teja for the C. Narayana Reddy Award, filmmaker R. for the Kantha Rao Award. Narayana Murthy, veteran director Singeetham Srinivasa Rao for the BN Reddy Award and producer Ramesh Prasad with the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award.

Considered one of the most influential figures in Telugu cinema, Chiranjeevi’s career spans over four decades, during which he has received several major awards, including multiple Filmfare Awards South and Nandi Awards. His contribution to Indian cinema was also honored with the civilian honor Padma Bhushan in 2006 and Padma Vibhushan in 2024. The megastar is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming fantasy film Vishwambhara, a project that has created significant anticipation among fans and industry observers.
