Actor and politician Nandamuri Balakrishna was one of the 139 veterans to be awarded the Padma Award on the eve of Republic Day. Popularly known as Balayya or NBK, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan on 25 January. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, actors Junior NTR and Venkatesh Daggubati congratulated him for the honor.

Nandamuri Balakrishna was one of the 19 Indians to be honored His dedication to the Telugu film industry, his long -term heritage in Indian cinema and the third highest civilian award for his philanthropic contribution were awarded the Padma Bhushan.
