Censor approves Ramayan teaser, ratings and runtime revealed before release

The teaser of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan starring Ranbir Kapoor has been cleared by CBFC. The approval has paved the way for the release of the teaser, adding to the excitement ahead of the film’s April 2 premiere.

Teaser of director Nitesh Tiwari’s film RamayanaThe Ranbir Kapoor starrer has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) ahead of its scheduled release on April 2.

A screenshot of the certification showing the ratings and runtime was shared online two days before the premiere of the teaser titled ‘Rama’. Fans can expect a trailer-length clip to be released on Thursday.

report from news18 Let us tell you that the teaser ‘Rama’ runs for 2 minutes and 38 seconds and it has got ‘U’ (universal) rating. This means audiences of all age groups will be able to watch this epic. The certification was granted just in time for its official unveiling on March 30.

As of now, the makers have only released the title video and a 3 minute and 3 second clip titled ‘Ramayana: The Introduction’. The clip features a VFX-heavy first look of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana.

The introduction clip was shared with the caption, “A result of collaboration with some of the best people in the world to ensure that the Ramayana is presented with the greatest amount of dignity and respect. Welcome to the beginning.”

The approval of the teaser by CBFC is an important step ahead of the promotional campaign of the film. This indicates that the makers are preparing to share more content with the audience soon.

Ranbir Kapoor’s portrayal of Lord Ram and the technical aspects highlighted in the introductory clip have generated interest among audiences and industry watchers alike.

Ramayan is set to release in theaters in November, 2026, with the release date coinciding with Diwali.
