Anshuka Parwani, known for training Deepika Padukone, Rakul Preet Singh, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor, talks about her wellness journey.
Celebrity yoga coach spoke openly about the health of Kareena, Deepika, Alia
While the world was celebrating Yoga Day yesterday and many celebrities posted about what yoga means to them on this day, we tracked down Bollywood divas who have made yoga an integral part of their lifestyle. From Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone to Ananya Panday and Rakul Preet Singh, these celebrities swear by yoga in particular. If there is one person who knows this for sure, it is their celebrity yoga trainer Anshuka Parwani. In an exclusive interview with NDTV’s Abeera Dhar, Anshuka elaborated on her first disciple Kareena Kapoor’s dedication to her health journey and how Deepika Padukone’s yoga routine was dramatically changed to work during her pregnancy. When asked what the best part of being a celebrity yoga coach is, Anshuka said, “After waking up at 4 am and doing a yoga class from 4:30 to 5:30, I might come back and relax and have breakfast, but she would be busy shooting all day.” So that kind of hard work and discipline is resilient. And I see that with everybody.”

Anshuka Parwani further added, “Recently I went to the BAFTA Awards with Deepika Padukone. And before even travelling from here to London, she made sure that she attended her session. So, I think the way she manages time is really amazing. This is a skill that I want to acquire.”
Talking about the favourite asanas of Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, the celebrity wellness coach said, “Of course, you know Alia’s poses, it has become very famous. Alia loves Kapotasana, her deep backbend. DP (Deepika Padukone) loves her inverted asanas. Kareena Kapoor… I think Surya Namaskar goes with Kareena because I remember when I first told that Kareena Kapoor did her first 100 Surya Namaskars, everybody came, yet despite it being there for hundreds of years, it became Kareena Kapoor’s Surya Namaskar.”
The wellness coach then revealed that the one pose that these divas “love to hate” varies. “Different poses on different days. But I am someone who says the pose you don’t want to practice is the one you should do the most. So, it keeps changing.”
Anshuka Parwani said that asanas like Bhramari Pranayama, Anulom Vilom and sitting with legs up against the wall are the best asanas for stress management.
Naming the three most challenging poses that these B-Town stars have performed with her, the yoga instructor said, "Shirshasana, headstand is number one. Any arm balance, there are so many, there is Bakasana which is your crow pose which is another one and Kapotasana which is the Aaliyah pose. It is a very difficult advanced pose and she does it so gracefully."
Anshuka said that she loves doing Shirshasana, but it depends on which pose she likes the most. Talking about this, she said, "I feel great, it is impossible after being upside down."
The celebrity coach elaborates on how he has changed a lot since before The Depths It can take her several days to adjust to each trimester of her pregnancy. "Right now we are looking at it very holistically, she is going to have a baby so we are looking at it very carefully. We are constantly going through the prenatal routine with her, of course, making sure that every trimester is different, preparing for a very healthy baby."
