Career crisis: Actress Ayesha Khan trolled for warning against protest support
Bollywood actor Ayesha Khan was recently detained while trying to join students protesting over NEET irregularities in Mumbai. His response to the warning of losing work in Bollywood has drawn further attention to his public support towards the movement.

Sharing videos of the incident on Instagram, Ayesha also posted a screenshot of a direct message sent to her after she uploaded the clip of the protest. It was written in the message, ‘Now there is no work for you in Bollywood.’ In response, Ayesha wrote, “I’d rather lose my career than lose my spine. Scare someone else, thanks, bye.”

She said she was forcibly dragged and pushed into the police van. She said, “I was pulled by four or five women. I tried with all my might to try not to get into the van, but they pulled us inside. During the entire journey, we kept asking why we were detained and what mistake we had done. There were no answers, no accountability, nothing. No one responded and we were taken from Dadar to Worli.”
In another post, Ayesha shared a video of herself being pushed into a police van and wrote, “Draged for standing peacefully, detained. Asked questions to all the cops present there as to why we were being detained? But got no answers. Today will be the most peaceful sleep of my life. I was standing up for what was right! Still asking the same questions at the police station! Why have I been detained? What law did I break? Nobody’s democratic.” Forget about rights and protecting them, instead you are harming your own citizens.” What? I see shame in some of their eyes, but they are bound by their duties, they know, we know, what is right and what is wrong.”
Ayesha has continued to use social media to voice support for the student protests, regularly sharing posts and updates in solidarity with the movement. Students have been protesting at New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar for almost a month over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak, demanding nationwide education reforms and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Meanwhile, activist Sonam Wangchuk ended her hunger strike on Thursday night after the Center assured her that Parliament will discuss the alleged NEET-UG paper leak and comprehensive exam reforms. The government also assured them that no legal action would be taken against the peaceful protesters.
