Cameron Diaz discussed during a recent interview whether she would want to be a part of a sequel to The Mask. The actor recently came out of 10 years of retirement with the film Back in Action.
Speaking to Access Hollywood, Cameron was asked if he’d be open to returning for a sequel to the 1994 cult comedy, The Mask.
“If Jim is on board, I mean, I’ve been riding those coattails since day one,” the Charlie’s Angels actor said.
Jim Carrey had previously expressed his interest in a Mask sequel, provided the film had a strong script. The Truman Show actor said, “Oh my God, you know, this must be the right idea.”
The Mask tells the story of a mild-mannered bank teller, Stanley Ipkiss, played by Jim Carrey. He finds a magical wooden mask that transforms him into a green-faced troublemaker who can transform himself and his surroundings into a cartoon form at will.
Cameron Diaz is back from her 10-year hiatus with her latest film, Back in Action, which also stars Jamie Foxx, Glenn Close and Andrew Scott. It was released on Netflix on January 17.
