A video of a kidnapping carried out by a group of men in Australia was presented to the Parramatta District Court in New South Wales on 28 November. The incident, which occurred on January 11, 2023, involved Kodar Faytroni, Safwan Hussein, Ali Hamad and. Abud Elkardi travels from Melbourne to Guildford to kidnap Younis. The motivation behind the attack was linked to Faytroni’s belief that Eunice had married his sister only to obtain an Australian visa.

The footage, recorded by Hamad, shows Hussein restraining Younis in a headlock inside a vehicle, while Faytroni sits next to him. According to the NY Post, additional clips show Faytroni attacking Eunice at the victim’s mother’s residence, before being driven to another property.

The ordeal ended when police intervened and stopped the men’s vehicle. All four defendants have pleaded guilty to taking or detaining a person in company.

During sentencing proceedings, Faytroni’s attorney claimed that his client’s low intellectual ability played a role in the “bizarre” nature of the crime. However, Judge Stephen Hanley explained that the reason was Faytroni’s refusal to accept his sister’s choice of partner, saying, “It reflects a complete failure to allow this woman to choose who she wants.” She wants to have me as her partner.” The judge described the act as misogynistic and described the crime as deliberate and targeted.

Judge Hanley expressed outrage at the conduct, saying, “It seems they have been able to find him, break into his house, remove him from his home, assault him in the car, Force her to seek a divorce according to Islamic law while her partner listens on the phone in distress… and you say this is below the mid-range (of objective severity) for this man? and his companions There is a strange attitude towards women.

Crown prosecutor Adam Madley explained that Faytroni believed he had a duty to protect his sister and believed there was a lack of integrity in his marriage. “The Crown believes it has a considerable degree of insight and knowledge in terms of the motivations behind this offending,” Muddle said.

Court proceedings for Faytroni and Alcardi were postponed until 20 December after Alcardi was hospitalized after collapsing during a lunch break. Hamad and Hussain are scheduled to appear in court again on December 13.
