Mastodon had increased three albums in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart and two in 2017 which topped the Rock Album Chart – “Emperor of Sand” and in 2014 “Once More ‘were at the top of’ Round the Sun”.

Hinds co-established Mastodon in 2000 with Basist Troy Sanders, Guitarist Bill Kelieher and drummer Bran Deller. Mastodon’s third studio album, the “blood mountain” of 2006, was his first to reach the top 40, which reached number 32 at Billboard 200.

As reported by the Associated Press, Mastodon received a grammy for the best metal performance for “Sultan’s curse” in 2017, which is included in the emperor of the sand. Rolling Stone also noted its 2011 album The Hunter as one of the best years of the year, which praises its groundbreaking sound.

Later in March 2025, Hindes left Mastodon. The band issued a statement saying, “We are grateful to music and history and are grateful to the history shared by us, and we do not want anything other than success and happiness in their future efforts.”

Apart from Mastodon, Hinds were also working on various side projects. He visited Europe with a band without a face at the end of this year. His sudden death abandoned the loss of a unique voice in the fans and the world of music in the metal.
