Boy George is regretting his comments about late singer Liam Payne. During his appearance on the High Performance podcast, the musician revealed that he had said some words to the One Direction member, but he introspected and concluded that what he said about Payne in a video was “too was not good.”

Payne died at the age of 31 after falling from the balcony of his hotel room. The latter singer was buried in London a month after his death.

Meanwhile, while chatting with the podcast host, the Love Is Love crooner revealed, “I actually put a message at the bottom of a post saying, ‘He’s gone crazy,’ which wasn’t very nice, But I felt it. I felt like he was out of control.”

The musician further added, “And when (his death) happened, it affected me a lot. In the same way that Amy Winehouse just hit me up because it felt so ridiculous.”

Speaking about Payne, George confessed that he was shocked to learn that the former boy band member had died. He shared, “You know, I woke up at 5 in the morning and it came on the American news and I was literally like, ‘What the f—. I was literally like, ‘No, this isn’t real.’ I couldn’t accept it and I think everyone felt the same way.”

The former Voice judge shared that he empathized with Payne’s father, who was heartbroken by his son’s passing. George said that seeing his condition brought tears to his eyes.

Liam was in Buenos Aires to attend Niall Horan’s concert with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy on October 2. While Cassidy left for California, Payne stayed back due to visa issues.

While in the hotel room, Payne was in a disoriented state and under the influence. On October 16, the musician fell from the third floor, breaking his skull and suffering other serious injuries. Liam Payne died from his injuries and was pronounced dead by medical officials.
