Directed by Bobby Koli, Daku Maharaj was coincidentally released on 12 January 2025 with Makar Sankranthi Weekend. The Period Action Masala film starred Telugu actor-royalty Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role. Apart from this, Pragya Jaiswal, Urvashi Rautela and Bobby Deol are specialized, the Tollywood film emerged as an average grocer in its final global run with Rs 115 crore.

While Daku Maharaj was not the winner, Nandamuri Balakrishna alias Balya has now done Akhan 2: Thanandavam in the pipeline. Directed by Boyapati Sarenu, the upcoming film action drama is the sequel to Akhanda, which was released in 2021. It marks the reunion of Balayaya and Boyapati Srinu after four years. Apart from Akhanda, he has also given hits like Simha and legend.
Akhand went on the floor on 2 December 2024. It will be released on 25 September 2025 at Dussehra. The arena, in which NBK was depicted in an Aghori avatar, was a blockbuster and his supreme gragarr with a global lifetime business of Rs 120.8 crore. The sequel should emerge as a successful enterprise. Dussehra is expected to benefit the upcoming film at the box office, especially for its early day.

In India, Bali-Starrer earned Rs 96.75 crore and in foreign markets, the Telugu period action film received Rs 18.25 crore in the final runtime. Going at the box office by Sankranathi Festival and Balya’s hot form, it could add more than Rs 30 crore more in its final collection, with Rs 145 crore and Rs 150 crore.
Daku Maharaj had high expectations for its performance at the box office. The 2025 Telugu film had an unprecedented business in the first week as it promotes due to Sankranthi Festival. However, later, Helmer of Bobby Koli did not gain momentum as expected despite Balya’s strong presence. It faced its rival release, Sankrantik Vastunam as a strong competition.
