Bhumi Pednekar revealed that The Lady Killer was released as an incomplete film, with around 35 films never shot, making it one of the toughest phases of her career.

The actor revealed that the film that released in theaters was incomplete and very different from what he had originally signed, admitting that the failure left him traumatized and struggling to recover professionally.
during a conversation with middayBhumi reflected on the failure of the film, which became one of Bollywood’s biggest box-office flops in recent years. He revealed that approximately 35 percent of the film was never shot, leading to drastic changes in the final product.
She said, “The script we read was complete, but a large part of it was never filmed. What was released was an incomplete film. I wish I knew better – maybe if I was part of the system, I could have done things differently. I was in shock. I kept wondering what was happening because nothing like this had ever happened before. Eventually, I told myself it was a learning.”
Bhumi shared that the version that reached theaters was far from the film the actors had initially agreed upon. A large portion of the script was not filmed, causing the project to diverge from its original vision. She admitted that she was surprised when the producers decided to release the film despite the missing segments.
This experience had a deep impact on him personally and professionally, making it difficult to understand what had happened.
She said, “It was a very heartbreaking time in my life. I thought I was finished. I didn’t know how to get over it. Made on an estimated budget of Rs 45 crore, it earned only Rs 60,000 on its opening day and completed its lifetime gross of less than Rs 1 lakh within a week. The film also struggled to secure an OTT platform and was eventually released for free on YouTube.
