The pairing of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan has returned with Bhoot Bangla and the film is proving to be a huge success theatrically. With earnings of Rs 120 crore already in two weeks, the horror-comedy is set to register a clean hit of Rs 150 crore in India. While the team is celebrating the success and planning future collaborations, some notorious elements in the industry are trying to spread rumors and negative reports.
An online platform reported that Tabu, who made an impact with an extended role in Bhoot Bangla, is angry with the makers for allegedly cutting her role in the edit. Lead actor Akshay Kumar was blamed for editing out the role. But it turns out that these are all malicious rumors, as director Priyadarshan quashes the rumors and sets the record straight. She refuted all the claims saying, “I don’t know why and who is spreading this negative news. I am the director of Bhoot Bangla and I decide what to keep and what not. The film is a big success, but still, some people are trying to spread negativity. Tabu is not at all upset. I have done eight films with her, and if she was upset she would have told me. She is happy. Whatever she shot is part of the film.”
The filmmaker told that Akshay Kumar never interferes in the editing of any film. Priyadarshan said, “Also, Akshay didn’t ask me to edit any part; he never does. I do my work honestly, and every actor comes to watch the film before release. Whoever is spreading such rumors should be ashamed.”
Talking about Bhoot Bangla, this film is based on the team of strong comedians like Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani and Manoj Joshi. Despite competition from other films like Raja Shivaji, The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Michael, the film continued to attract viewership in its third weekend. Keep reading Pinkvilla for more updates.
