Director Nelson Dilipkumar is currently shooting for his next film, Jailer 2. While reports indicate that the filmmaker is set to direct a film starring Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, it is now being speculated that he may make his Telugu debut by directing a film with Jr NTR in the lead role.
Nelson Dilipkumar to debut in Telugu with Jr NTR’s film?
According to online reports, director Nelson Dilipkumar has many impressive projects in his kitty. The Beast director is currently working on Jailer 2, which will serve as a sequel to the 2023 film Jailer.
After completing the shooting of the Rajinikanth starrer, the filmmaker is expected to make a project starring Jr NTR in the lead role. After his first venture in Telugu cinema, the director is likely to step into production for the much-awaited film starring Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.
Reportedly, the promo shoot of the Rajinikanth-Kamal Haasan starrer is scheduled to take place in February. The project is said to have renowned cinematographer, director and actor Rajeev Menon behind the camera. Although more details about the film have not been revealed yet, an official announcement is expected soon.

Director Nelson Dilipkumar is currently filming Jailer 2. The Rajinikanth-starrer will continue the story of ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian after the events of the first instalment. With Mohanlal and Shiv Rajkumar reprising their roles, the film will also star Vidya Balan and Mithun Chakraborty in important roles.
Earlier in an interview, Mithun Chakraborty had hinted that Shah Rukh Khan may have a cameo role in the film. However, no official confirmation has been made yet by the makers. Additionally, actress Nora Fatehi is expected to appear in a special dance number.
Although the release date is yet to be announced, the makers are reportedly aiming to release the film by mid-2026.
Junior NTR’s work front
Jr NTR is currently working on the tentative title NTRNeil. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the action entertainer is set to release on June 25, 2026.
It is being told that apart from Tarak, Rukmini Vasanth and Tovino Thomas also play important roles in the film.
