Matal has unveiled its first Barbie doll with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), which is an important milestone in its ongoing mission to promote children’s toys to toys.

The new doll, part of the 2025 Barbie fashionistus line, a continuous glucose monitor (CGM), an insulin pump, and a global diabetes awareness inspired fashion symbols.

“Is an important step in our commitment to an introduction, inclusive and representation of a Barbie doll with Type 1 diabetes, senior Vice President of Barbie and Global head of Gudiya. “Barbie helps shape the children’s early assumptions of the world … we make sure more children can see themselves in stories that they imagine and they love dolls.”

To develop the doll, Barbie collaborated with success T1D (east JDRF), a major diabetes research and advocacy group. The design includes real -world T1D devices such as CGM, which appears on the arm of the doll with pink -shaped tape, and an insulin pump on her waist. Its dress includes a blue polka-dot top and skirt that reflects international diabetes awareness symbols.

Aaron J. Kowlski, the CEO of Breakthrough T1D, who lived with this situation since the age of 13, praised the partnership. “This means that the world is part of bringing more visibility in a situation that affects so many families,” he said.

Barbie is also honoring two famous public figures that live with type 1 diabetes: model Leela Moss and Fitness Trainer Robin Arzone. Both are nominated for dolls and are recognized for their advocacy and visibility in the type 1 diabetes community.
